Meet Rude Man

Go backward a step

Tess stepped out of the elevator and into the downstairs lobby, the warm glow of the fluorescent lights enveloping her like a hug. She had been working non-stop for hours, and all she wanted was a cup of coffee to revive her. As she made her way to the coffee shop, she noticed a line forming behind the counter. As she waited in line, Tess couldn't help but notice the person standing next to her. He was tall, with broad shoulders and chiseled features that seemed almost too perfect to be real. His dark hair was messy and textured, and his piercing blue eyes seemed to bore into her soul. But as he caught her eye, a scowl twisted across his face, making Tess feel uneasy. When it was finally her turn to order, Tess placed her request for a simple black coffee and stepped aside, only to be confronted with a curt tone from the brooding stranger beside her. "You're taking up too much space," he growled, not even looking at her. Tess felt a jolt of surprise and annoyance. "I'm sorry?" she replied, taken aback by his rudeness. The stranger turned to face her, his eyes flashing with anger. "Don't be sorry," he snarled. "Just get out of my way." Tess's instincts told her to step aside, but her pride refused to let her back down. She stood tall, trying to maintain eye contact with the stranger. "I'm not going anywhere," she said firmly. The stranger raised an eyebrow, clearly taken aback by her bravery. For a moment, they just stared at each other, the tension between them palpable. Then, the barista called out his order, and he muttered under his breath before stepping aside to let Tess reach the counter. As she waited for her drink, Tess couldn't help but feel intrigued by the brooding stranger's rough exterior and sharp wit. She wondered what had made him so bitter, and whether there was more to him than met the eye.

Does Tess follow after the rude man?

Or back up to her desk?
