Tess waits for the sequel
Go backward a step
As Tess walked back to her desk, she couldn't shake the feeling of unease that had settled in the pit of her stomach. She had thought that there was a chance that the rude man could be charming and attractive, but now she wasn't so sure. The way he had glared at her, the possessiveness in his eyes... it made her feel like she was trapped in a nightmare from which she couldn't wake up.
She sat down at her desk, trying to compose herself as she began to work on her latest project. But her mind kept wandering back to the rude and their confrontation. Why had he reacted that way?
As she worked, Tess found herself wondering if she would ever meet someone who wasn't a jerk. Someone who didn't have an ulterior motive or a hidden agenda. Someone who genuinely cared about her as a person.
She sighed and rubbed her temples, feeling a headache coming on. Why did it always seem like the good guys were the ones who were messed up? She thought back to all the men she had dated in the past - the ones who had turned out to be cheaters, liars, or just plain emotionally unavailable.
Tess's eyes began to well up with tears as she realized that she was starting to lose hope. Maybe she would never find someone who truly loved and accepted her for who she was. Maybe she would be stuck in a cycle of disappointment and heartbreak forever.
Tess took a deep breathe and decided to wait for the sequel. Maybe there could be a new series she could feature in? In any case, she was not going to star in this book.
Just then, the phone on her desk rang, breaking the silence. Tess hesitated for a moment before picking up, wondering if it could possibly be someone else calling to make things worse. But as she answered, she heard a familiar voice on the other end of the line... "Hey, I'm so sorry about what happened back there," it said.
THE END?? .... for now.
The end
Tess will have to wait for the sequel
