As Tess caught up to Decker, she found herself face to face with a man who seemed utterly entranced by her presence. His eyes, which had been guarded earlier, now burned with a fierce intensity as he took in the sight of her. Tess knew exactly how to fan the flames of this newfound interest, and she set about doing just that. She batted her eyelashes, her voice dropping to a sultry whisper as she asked, "So, how do we know each other? What connection do we have? " Decker's jaw clenched, his eyes flashing with a mix of attraction and wariness as he replied, "I'm not sure I'm ready for that conversation yet." Tess pouted, feigning disappointment as she reached out to brush a strand of hair behind his ear. Her touch sent shivers down his spine, and she knew she had him right where she wanted him. With a playful smile, she leaned in close, her voice husky with flirtation. "Come on, baby," she whispered. "I promise I'll make it worth your while. We can tell some jokes. After all you know that I am an editor. Everytime I reach for a book, I touch my shelf."
