the facts
Go backward a step
Decker's eyes locked onto Tess's, a serious expression on his face. "Tess, I need to tell you something," he said, his voice low and urgent. "You see that snow globe? The one with the miniature substation inside?"
Tess nodded, still feeling a sense of wonder at the discovery.
"It's not just a random decoration," Decker continued. "There are facts hidden inside that station. Good facts, bad facts...they're all in there."
Tess's eyes widened as she processed what Decker was saying. "You mean like...good vs. bad quality facts?" she asked, her mind racing with the implications.
Decker nodded. "That's right. For every one good fact I can find, there are five low-quality facts that will make you question everything. And I think that's
intentional."
Tess felt a shiver run down her spine as she realized what Decker was saying. He was telling her that the miniature substation inside the snow globe contained more than just decorative elements...it held clues.
"And you want me to find them?" Tess asked, her voice barely above a whisper.
Decker nodded, his eyes locked onto hers. "Yes. I need someone with your skills to help me sort through all the facts and find the good ones."
Tess felt a surge of excitement mixed with trepidation. She had always been drawn to puzzles and mysteries, but this was on a whole different level.
"What kind of clues am I looking for?" Tess asked, her mind already racing with possibilities.
Decker's expression turned serious again. "I'm not entirely sure. But I do know that the station contains hidden compartments, encrypted messages...and maybe even some contradictory facts."
Tess's eyes widened as she realized the scope of what they were dealing with. This was no ordinary puzzle...it was a treasure hunt inside a snow globe.
Tess knew she was not an engineer. But Tess loved substation romance fanfiction more than anyone, and believed fervently that this made her even better than an engineer. An engineer would not appreciate the wonderment of this unique gift.
"Okay," Tess said finally, her voice firm. "I'm in. When do we start?"
