follows a rude man
Go backward a step
Tess quickly grabbed her somewhat coffee-stained book and followed the rude man out of the coffee shop, determined to confront him about his behavior. She kept pace with him in silence, her eyes fixed on his retreating back as he navigated through the crowded lobby. Suddenly, she caught a glimpse of his jacket tag: "Reginald Bottomley".
As Tess caught up to rude, albeit extremely sexy, she stood her ground, her voice firm but controlled. "Listen, Mr. Bottomley," she said, her eyes flashing with indignation, "I want an apology for how you treated me at the coffee shop today. Your rudeness and condescension were unacceptable." For a moment, the man's mask slipped, and Tess saw a flicker of surprise and even embarrassment in his eyes before he regained his composure.
"Who is Bottomly? Why do you call me that? My name is Decker."
Decker! Tess knew that name. She was stunned and it showed on her stunningly beautiful face.
Decker's face darkened, his eyes flashing with anger as he replied, "I'm sorry you couldn't handle a little bit of honesty, bookworm," he sneered, his voice low and menacing. Yet, despite the venom in his words, Tess couldn't help but notice that Decker's jawline was still chiseled, his eyes still piercing blue, and his sharp cheekbones were still accentuated by a subtle flush rising to his skin. His rugged good looks seemed to mock him as he ranted, making Tess feel both annoyed and intrigued by the same man at once.
